Italy | Part I

Early last month I had the opportunity to go to Italy to try out for several professional women's soccer teams. Although most of the trip consisted of training and competing, we had a couple of days off to explore Sirmione Garda, Verona, and Venice (my next post).

I got an offer to play for a team in Verona but decided not to take it. I've come to the point in my life where it's time to say goodbye to competitive soccer after 18 years. It's a bittersweet decision, but it's time to move on to something new. Soccer will always be part of my life, and I will forever be grateful to the sport that brought me so many memories (laughs and tears), the best of friends, provided for my education and gave me my ultimate best friend. I think it's safe to say I wouldn't be the person I am today without it. So here's to soccer and finally getting to join an adult Sunday league!
